GTUK 2019 British Individual Taekwon-do Championships

Grand Master Oldham and the Tournament Committee are honoured to invite and welcome you to our GTUK 2019 Individual Taekwon-do Championships. 

We are working hard to ensure that our tournaments are a memorable and enjoyable experience for both competitors and their families, bringing together members of the GTUK, young and old from all of our regions of the UK.

We would like to thank you and your competitor(s) for the continued support at the GTUK championships.

This championship is open to students of all ages and levels of Taekwon-Do, giving each and every student the opportunity to take part in competitive patterns, sparring and where age appropriate destruction. 

All students are placed into categories according to their age and belts to give everyone a fair chance to compete to become GTUK National Champions.

The venue has free parking and there will also be the opportunity to purchase photographs and refreshments on the day.

Please complete your entry forms and return with fees to your Club secretary by 28th September.

Spectators pay on the day.

Entry Fees: Adults £20, Juniors £15,

Spectators £5 – under 11s free when accompanied by a paying adult.

All Adult + *Junior 13 – 16 year old black belt applicants must attend a national technical course in the same year they are to be tested for their next promotional rank.

NOTE: Only on a full test do Junior 13 – 16 year olds need to attend. Verification by attaching a photo copy (national technical course certificate) to the black belt application form A’ must apply. There will be an option of two national technical courses a year to attend.

The next Sparring Workshop will be held on Saturday 17th August 2019 at Weaver Sports Centre (Blue Room)

10:00 – 13:00

The workshop will cover elements of Cardio, Stretching, Foot Work, Combinations, Point Stop Sparring, Continuous Sparring and a Q&A session.
Depending on numbers we may have a mini Tag Team event at the end with prizes for the winnersI look forward to seeing you there.

Summer Closure Details

Summer Holidays

Grange Park – will be closed for three weeks during the summer holidays this year. The last lesson will be held on Tuesday 30th July and then the club will reopen on Tuesday 27th August.

Wellingborough – will also be closed for three weeks during the summer holidays. The last lesson will be held on Sunday 4th Aug and then the club will reopen on Wednesday 21st August.

Wollaston will not be closed during the summer holidays, if you’ve not attended these lessons before you’re more than welcome to make the trip over to Wollaston while our other clubs are closed.

Mr Bowman will also be putting on another sparring seminar over the summer so keep your eyes out for more details.
